Meditation eRetreat With Laurence Freeman OSB ‘Who Do You Say I Am’
“This Retreat has been prepared to help you spend quality time in the most fundamental relationship of your life, your relationship with God. In the ground of this relationship are planted all your human relationships, even your relationship with yourself.”
The cost of the Retreat is £20.00. (we have a group concession) Please contact Christopher (the Rector) for more details.
Healing Blankets are available in both churches. If you know of someone suffering illness, grief or loneliness, in need of a
‘comforter’, please take a blanket from the front of church. The recipient will know that they are enfolded in the prayers of the church. More blankets would be appreciated.
Donations for local Food Banks can be left at the back of
both churches. St Ninian’s supports CD ‘Helping Hands Food Bank’ and Christ Church supports Kirkcudbright Food Bank. Non-perishable foods please, also toiletries. NB: Please will you write the Best Before Date clearly on food items. This helps the people at the Food Banks and saves them time looking for hard to find dates.

For the Fallen
With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal

There is music in the midst of desolation

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
