The Rt Revd Nicholas Bundock, Bishop of the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Haughty as Rector of St Ninian’s, Castle Douglas and Christ Church, Dalbeattie. Her Institution is being planned for Thursday 16 April 3pm at St Ninian’s Church, Castle Douglas.

Rebecca Haughty says “I am so looking forward to coming to be with you, as Rector of Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie. As I prepare for this new chapter in ministry, I am grateful for the warm welcome I have already received from members of the two vestries and am eager to get to know everyone, to listen, and to learn about the unique character and traditions of Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie. My hope is to serve faithfully, to work collaboratively, and to support the Charges in our worship, outreach, and fellowship. Together, I trust we can continue to nurture a vibrant and inclusive church life that builds on the strong foundations already in place. Thank you for your prayers and support as I prepare to make the move north. I look forward to meeting you all in the coming months and to the exciting journey ahead”.

Bishop Nick says, “I’m over the moon to be welcoming yet another superb and experienced priest into our diocese. Rebecca wowed us all with her kindness and wisdom and the discernment process has done the job it’s intended to do: lead the right people, at the right time, for the right reason into a new ministry. We are building a team who will help this Diocese become a Church for Everyone….”

Please pray for Rebecca as she prepares to come and work in Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie in the coming months.
